The ‘L’ is the 2nd longest (106 miles) rapid transit system in the US & consists of 8 rapid transit lines (red, blue, pink, orange, purple, yellow, brown, green). It’s nickname the ‘L’ because large parts of the system are elevated. Over 650K people ride the ‘L’ each weekday. Annual ridership is over 190 million.
