We normally think of futuristic dystopian cities as densely populated, neon-lit east asian metropolises in China, Hong Kong, Japan, and South Korea. But now we welcome you to the lost cyberpunk megalopolis of Metro Manila.
RTSTK in collaboration with Lucius Felimus have created “CYBRPNK MNL”. A design study on Metro Manila metroplex envisioned and rendered as one of these cyberpunk future dystopian cities as the backdrop. While taking “Baybayin” one of the pre-colonial forms of written Tagalog and envisioning it as a futuristic font to write what we consider the fundamental elements of what makes cyberpunk, cyberpunk (in Tagalog). Metro (City), Ulan (Rain), Gabi (Night), Ilaw (Lights).
