The EQ forces were back at it for yet another big photo-shoot. This time, however, the models were EQ’s very own bags and accessories. With the help of our good friends, product photographer, Ethan Caldwell of Light|n|Motion, our behind the scenes photographer, Mike Maravilla of Unscene Media Group, and our Social Media guru, Elisha-Rio Apilado of AppleAvocado, the shoot was a thorough success.

Bags were cleaned, prepped, positioned, lit and shot with the utmost attention to detail, which was easily fueled by all of our inner perfectionists. While this made for plenty of work, our mentality is always do it right the first time to create a final product that we’re all proud to call our own. Even the cameras and lenses were cleaned on the spot by camera tech and EQ crew member, Michio Fukuda, to guarantee little post-processing and, most importantly, the truest view of the bags achievable.

Unfortunately, no amount of prep work will make you invincible, as the shoot would prove through a series of obstacles. Luckily, everyone’s morale was so high that we weren’t phased and diligently weathered through the storm as a team with creative solutions and enthusiasm. Special rigs (contrived of strings, stands, and even wooden sticks) were made to hold the bags at just the right angles for each shot. Perfection was the goal, and we made sure that we came as close to that goal as we were humanly capable of. So as morning turned to night, and night turned back to morning, gas turned to fumes, our amazing team of individuals stayed in good spirits. Even after 14 hours of setup, shooting, problem solving, and getting lost in one of the slowest suburbs of Chicago, we were still goofing around turning bags into singing puppets, which you can catch a glimpse of in UMG’s behind the scenes video (we’re giving Maravilla bonus points for the ATCQ track selection). Stay tuned, because once the photos have been selected and the compositions have been arranged, we’ll be seeing Caldwell’s photos in EQ’s 2012 electronic Look Book and the newly designed website (set to drop in March 2 during our Media Reveal at RGB Lounge) incorporating our “Find Yours” theme.

If you missed out on our Facebook updates that day, check out the instagr.am compilation below provided by Elisha of Appleavocado. UMG also has more behind the scene shots for you to scroll through.

It was a long and exhausting day of determined minds getting a run for their money, but when you set out to do anything with a group of talented individuals, nobody’s willing to compromise at any point in the process. With so much work going into the design and craftsmanship of the bags, our only hope is that we do the bags justice with a bulletproof presentation of the features. We can rest for the moment, being one step closer to fully releasing our “Find Yours” theme, but keep your eyes peeled because the real movement is just getting started.
